Namaste,

Lehigh Valley is covered in snow! No matter how busy our lives get, Mother Nature makes us all take a good look around us and forces us to take a pause. The view outside our windows is of a pure, simple blanket of white. Its winter time!

As we get used to the gloves, ear muffs and cozy socks - let us please take few minutes to refresh our Language and Religion books. Sunday Nov 18th is Balvihar time! Do not forget your mantra folder. If you cant find yours, come to us we will have one for you.

Here are the few announcements for the upcoming weeks.
  • Diwali to Christmas Toy Drive Nov 18th - Dec 16th.
  • Hoodies are here!
  • Midterms on Dec 16th.

Once upon a time..4 years ago, The class of Religion 3 brought in some toys to donate for kids in medical care at Lehigh Valley Hospital. This was a part of Religious Discipline class practical application for the chapter Charity.
When this was announced at the Balvihar Satsangh, a few more families pitched in. It was not a lot, but it was  something. Next few holiday seasons, we had a decent collection of toys and this time some kids had decorated it as well as wrote cheerful notes.

Now we are in our 5th year doing Diwali to Christmas Toy drive.
We request all Balvihar families to bring in one unopened gift to Balvihar. We encourage the kids to take time to gift wrapped it and attach a note that explains who it can be given to, for eg : Girl ages 5-8.
Please drop it off near the Bhagwan area. There will be a board and box inside the temple from this Sunday on wards until Dec 16th.
Since we just wrapped up the week of Diwali, let us start our charity from home. A few days before Christmas we will take them to the Lehigh Valley hospital.  We will join hands to pray that our wishes help the kids heal faster and add some fun and positivity in their lives during their holiday times.
We have been covered by Morning Call and WFMZ news in the past years. The best part is when we all get together and chant OM in the lobby. Our prayers are for the healing, for the medical staff and the families. The drop off dates at the hospital will be announced soon. It is our heartfelt request that you join and make our 5th year the best yet!

Satsangh :
We have 2 more teaching classes Nov 18 and Dec 8 before Midterms on 16th. Let us get our focus on and do our best before 2018 is done!

We will be distributing Balvihar hoodies after Satsangh so please pick it up. Photo day will be in January so we want to make sure we have our hoodies ready for the clicks!

Balvihar Cafe Menu :
Idli, Vada, Plain Dosa, Masala Dosa, Cheese Dosa, Tamarind Rice.

Namaste,

Our Teachers are our Pride! Their selfless contribution to our children's education is what has helped us build a strong Balvihar. This Sunday we celebrate them!

Encourage your family to create any art, dedication or gesture of contribution in form of flowers, cards or crafts to bring a smile to our 30 + teachers. Our culture is one of the only in the world that puts Guru at a pedestal of Bhagwan. We will join in a circle before Aarti to sing the mantra to the teachers and echo our appreciation in harmony!

Satsangh:
We are extremely excited to receive the founder of Modi Toys who launched their famous Ganesha plush toy few weeks ago. We invited them to give our Balvihar kids a chance to buy their own plush toy and or a book about "How Ganesha broke his tusk" and they said.. Yes!
Theirs is a story of entrepreneurship and perseverance. As immigrants from India, this brother sister duo represent the journey of staying connected to our roots and making the best of it! We look forward to seeing you all be a part of Satsangh! This will make for a perfect Diwali gift for your little ones.

Balvihar Cafe Menu : Idli, Vada, Samosa, Tamarind Rice, Yogurt Rice.

Namaste,

Lehigh Valley looks so beautiful with the early morning fog easing up into the bright leaves yet undecided into changing colors.  With that spark in your minds, let's hear it for the volunteer parents who help us bring 150 pieces of fruits, 150 packets of snacks, set up the tables - chairs, clean up before and after the Balvihar. There are so many little things that happen behind the scene and Bhagwan has always blessed us with helpful, proactive people and their little kids who take pride in making our tasks faster and fun! Dhanyawaad         .

We thank the Teachers who use their Friday, Saturday nights to study the subjects, send emails, whatsapp messages and prepare content for their students. We are so excited for all of our 150 students registered this year who make our mornings bright and wonderful. Their fresh and raring smiles brightening the Mandir! Our week is that much more powerful when we start it with our souls recharged!

October 14th is Teacher's appreciation Day at Balvihar. We will be inviting our Teachers to a special breakfast to honor them.  If you want to help us make it special for them, please reach out at HTSBalvihar@gmail.com no later than Oct 10th to be part of the planning!
