View this email in your browser Namaste, Snowflakes are in the air, evenings are dark but twinkly and we are all in the mood to hang up our worries and to-do lists for a warm cup of cocoa and surrender to Jingle bells!   Balvihar year has been moving so fast that we can barely catch up! If you are in the midst of Holiday Shopping, planning a trip or just decide to stay at home and watch Lehigh Valley turn from bare to snow covered, hope you are finding some time to yourself. We thank you for being a wonderful HTS Balvihar Family. In small and big ways you have encouraged the teachers and coordinators to be more than we can. The happy, smiling children with their beautiful smiles have made our mornings brighter! Thank you. We have regular class on December 10th 2017. There was an error in the last email update. Apologies. Last Satsangh, we had a good second session with Sapan Shah. Simple breathing exercises can help our conscious mind from building stress. Early access to social media and gadgets give more reasons for kids to loose focus and want constant gratification.  Video games, chat groups may help kids understand problem solving and networking but without a set rule of screen time we risk attention disorder as well as other health problems.  We look forward to the culimination of the mental health awareness session in spring. For our December 10th Satsangh, We welcome Ms. Malathi Santhanam BSN, for a session on CPR. The life saving technique of  Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is one of the most helpful tool in any person's arsenal. We want our Balvihar kids to not only be aware of this information, but we want them to feel encouraged to take CPR certification courses during summer.   Malathiji has worked in Lehigh Valley Hospital as well as Sacred Heart Hospital in past and currently works at Spiritrust Lutheran Homecare and Hospice as a visiting nurse. Malathiji is an integral part of Hindu Temple Society and has helped us with flu clinic since last 4 years. Dec 17th will be the last day for our Diwali to Christmas Toy drive. We thank all the families who have generously donated. Dhanyawaad. An email will be sent to all the families who want to join us on the day of Donation. We will all chant Aum mantra in the main hall for the universal well being, we will be there for around 15 minutes. For Dec 17th, Please save the time slot 11: 30 - 11:45 am for our Parent Teacher session. Since we have our midterms, each class test will be 30 minutes duration. At 11:15 we will meet in the temple hall for Satsangh.
