Namaste,
We meet this Sunday Nov 12th after a gap of two weeks. This will be our regular class. Our Deepavali Celebrations were grand! Boys in dashing kurtas and girls in their shimmery outfits. By performing Lakshmi Pooja we mark Deepavali celebrations in all our homes, however watching the little hands  perform their own simple pooja with their pure hearts  is a stirring image. This experience is to invoke a feeling of - " Our Bhagwan is a friend, approachable and a forever presence ". We hope they will always lean on to the guiding power. Thank you to Seetha, Sunita, Sumerta, Uma, Heena, Asha, Priyanka and Shashi for helping us set up the pooja in temple hall.

We all got together and celebrated Balvihar Diwali beautifully! Our Art Team led by Shweta and assisted by Shalini, Uma, Purvi, Dipika, Shanti, Deepti, Seetha, Jaideep, Sridhar and Lalitha and all of our parent  volunteers on the day of the celebrations who helped the students create stunning Diwali wreaths for our kids to take home. You might have seen the pictures on the HTS Balvihar  Facebook page! Thank you Vivekji for taking so many great pictures! We are working on Teacher's Diwali wreath during the holidays!

Heartfelt Dhanyawaad to the Central Cuisine Team : Jog Family, Vyas Family, Bal Family, Karandiker Family, Kshirsagar Family, Kaneria Family who were motivated and enthusiastic to get our Deepavali Celebrations lunch possible. Their organized efforts made the experience easy going for all of us.  Khaman Dhokla, Vada and Jalebi were delicious. A very kind Krutagnyata for Das family who shared a box of sweets for all the Balvihar families. We are so blessed to have shining examples of Seva Bhaav within our HTS Balvihar. You all put together are creating the early, strong, happy memories for our children.

Anugrahitosmi to Pareshji and Sumedhaji for filling Ganga and Krishna rooms with squeals of laughter and games. It was a rainy day and they got the adrenaline going along with brain games on the side.  "Jai Jai Gita, Bhagwad Gita" and "Jai Mahadev"  instead of ready set go does make a difference!

Nov 12th promises to be a chilly yet sunny day, so we will be finally have a dazzling display of firecrackers! our Satsangh will be brief to make time for mini Diwali all over again!

Diwali to Christmas Toy Drive : For past few years, students of HTS Balvihar have been collecting toys  for donations. We start this drive from Diwali days, it goes on until Dec 17th.
We take all the gift wrapped, unmarked toys to Lehigh Valley Hospital a week before Christmas.

It could be as simple as a $ store toy, a book or anything your child chooses. The main idea is to involve our children in this process. They pick the gift, gift wrap it, put a note regarding the gender and age group and leave it on the left hand side of our temple hall.

Indian Americans celebrate Christmas with as much enthusiasm as Diwali and festivals mean more when we share our good fortune with others. The anonymity of donations give purpose for children to be selfless. Last year a few of Balvihar kids who joined us at Lehigh Valley Hospital were featured on 69 Evening news! We hope to build community relations and spread good will from the Indian American community. There will be a paper for you to sign your name and number of gifts donated. This helps us keep it organized. Please join us and make our Dharma grow stronger.

Balvihar Cafe Menu : Plain Dosa, Masala Dosa, Cheese Dosa, Idli and Vada.
