View this email in your browser   Namaste, Welcome to HTS Balvihar Family! We begin our Balvihar school year at 9:45 am on Sunday September 15th 2019. You will be receiving emails from your language and religion teachers in the next few days to update you about what to expect, what will be taught. Please accept their requests for whats app requests so that you may be part of the communication cycle that makes it easier on all of us. Balvihar is a volunteer run organization. The teachers, organizers are all donating their time towards the service of Hindu Temple Society and its community members. We hope you become a part of our pursuit for peace, progress and prosperity for all. Balvihar starts for kids age 5 till 15. We have two Balvihar Alumni who will be joining as teachers besides the two that we already have from last two years. We welcome Abirami Chinnakaruppan and Uma Purani the proud Balvihar Scholarship winners to help us in Religion 1 and Religion 2 classes. We have a solid strength of 34 teachers but we are always in appreciation of more Substitute teachers who can help us when our teachers have unexpected commitments. Please email us at [email protected] to get involved. Our Respected Priest Shri. Anandji Shastrigal presides over the Aarti at 10:00 am before the Balvihar starts, We start our prayers at 9:45 which is guided by our graduating class. We have a parent teachers meet scheduled before the classes begin, so kindly arrive early at 9:30 am to get settled and relaxed for the first session. All students will be provided with Religion books, notebook at the start and a snack, fruit prasad at the end of the Balvihar. Language teachers will provide with the information for how to gather resources for language classes. Kindly make sure that your child has a comfortable backpack, healthy breakfast and excited mindset to learn more about their culture. As a new parent to Balvihar or a parent of a young 5, 6 or 7 year old student, we welcome you to stay with your child in Religion 1 class.  Every year we have shifting strength in classes so we have to make sure that we are changing rooms based on student numbers, we find out that parents registered their child in a different class than what the child was meant to be in, so kindly allow us to make adjustments to suit the purpose of Balvihar and make your child find the right setting. We have Balvihar Cafe that serves hot beverages, Idli, Dosa, Vada every Balvihar Sunday from 11am - 1 pm. This service is set up in the basement. However we have classes going on in Basement from 10:15 am till 12 pm so kindly keep your voices down in the temple premises at all time.  Make sure your payments to Balvihar are paid so that you do not get late fees and if you need help to make your payments, please reach out to [email protected] so that we may be of assistance. Finally, we will be sending regular newsletters to your email before every Balvihar class, so if you are not receiving these emails, kindly know that there could be error in the one that you provided or it went to your spam folder.
