Namaste,

To make the best use of weather, we request all parents to stay with the students and not drop them off in the morning. Our plan is to do mantra, aarti, Ravan Dahan and then resume with Drawing, games and lunch indoors.
It is not easy for Balvihar volunteers to take all the kids in drizzling weather out and back and we would like for you to enjoy the Religious as well as the festivity part of it with family. If you are volunteering, you are expected to be at the temple early.

Do not forget to wear rain coats! Thank you.

Namaste,

The fall weather has arrived and frosty panes are covering our windows! As our beautiful Lehigh Valley turns from green to a myriad of colors, let us get together tomorrow Sunday Oct 20th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm to celebrate Dussera!
Our HTS Balvihar Dussera is meant for our kids to be able to enjoy our festivals in a fun, safe and relaxed way. This is what we have planned for you.

Please :

  • Park away from the caution tape (Closer to the temple)
  • We need more hands to clean up, so please do your bit of Seva.
  • Keep all kids away from the caution tape during Raavan Dahan.
  • Dress in warm, drizzle proof jackets!!
Schedule :
9:45 - 10:00 - Mantra and Aarti
10:10 - Drawing Class by Chinna Sir in Ganga room (Religion 1 and Religion 3)
10:10 - Games in Yamuna, Krishna and Basement ( Religion 2 and Religion 4)

Satsangh :
During our Dussera celebrations, we will be welcoming Lataji Ananthan to our festivities. She has been a regular at all our HTS and Indian American events. This family has brought awareness to the issue of special needs and mental illness.

In last two years, a team of youth from NAMI have run Satsangh sessions to help Balvihar students and parents understand how detrimental stress and undue pressure can be for our children. Ananthan  family has been strongly instrumental in these endeavors. Every child from every shade is Bhagwan's gift to humanity and we will always support such positive causes. We hope all of us can purchase a pack of cards to bring hope and sparkle in to this festive season!

Balvihar Dussera Lunch Menu :
Samosa, Gulab Jamun, Juice box. All Balvihar students will receive lunch.  Parents, siblings may purchase it for $2.50.

Namaste,

Hope you are having a blessed Navaratri Celebration. These nine days of worshipping Ma is a beautiful and rare tradition that is special to our culture. We not only revere our female power Shakti, but know that there are various forms of them. Either in 3 Goddess of Ma Lakshmi, Ma Saraswati, Ma Parvati or in nine forms of Parvati herself.
  • Shailaputri,
  • Brahmacharini,
  • Chandraghanta,
  • Kushmanda,
  • Skandamata,
  • Katyayani,
  • Kaalratri,
  • Mahagauri
  • Siddhidhatri.
Whether it is a new born baby girl, a budding teen or an senior lady, There is a powerhouse in every woman that you know and see. Honor them. Respect yourself and live up to the possibilities in you! Happy Navaratri!

This is our 3rd Balvihar Class. We are officially in full swing and raring to go.. By now you should know your teachers, teacher's assistants or substitute teachers. You should be on their mailing list, whats app group and received your books, notebook and know the rhythm of our Balvihar!

Remember to be punctual to Mandir, leave your shoes in cubby and settle in hall by 9:40 am. Keep your mantra book ready and focus on your inner self as you learn and recite these mantras! With a big smile say Namaste to your teachers and show your homework! When you leave your class, do not forget to say Thank you! Your teachers will be waiting for you with a new story, a new theology and idea that will help you change the world! It is a wonderful thing to say Namaste and Thank you to all the volunteers that you see at Mandir who are there especially for you!

Satsangh: Our Hindu Temple is a beautiful blend of Sikhism, Jainism and Buddhism. What makes us special is that we are all of this and more! We are standing together with our Sikh brothers and sisters as we offer our Ardas to the brave Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal. In Sikhism, an Ardas is made to God to thank, support and help the devotee with whatever he or she is about to undertake or has done. It is a direct communication with the Almighty. This Sunday, at noon our Ardas will be for Dhaliwal Family. We will have a friend from local Gurudwara Hardeepji Sembhi speak and guide us.
Our own Balvihar Graduate Nikhil Chitluru will share his understanding and also request you all to help him raise funds for the family. He will be selling Orange and Blue bracelets to represent Sikhism and Police Support. Each band is $2.
Balvihar will also offer Khalsa Key Chains at $5 each. Khalsa means Pure. Allegiance to standing up for the weak and being brave at the core! You can make the check for HTS and write "United Sikh - Dhaliwal Family" in the memo. 100% proceeds will go towards Dhaliwal Family. We at HTS will stand up for our own starting from the youngest at Balvihar.
Please bring a scarf to cover your head and as a sign of solidarity wear Orange or Blue. Thank you.

Balvihar Cafe Menu : Vada, Dosa : (Plain, Cheese, Masala) & Tamarind Rice!

Celebration Alert : On 8th Oct, It is Sai Chundi's Birthday. To share their joy, Anu & Raj will be happy to make each Balvihar child a Dosa! Please collect token from Pratibha / Purvi in order to get your lunch! Make sure you wish Sai a very Happy Birthday!! Be the reason that he smiles!
