Namaste,

The roots of Deepavali Celebrations are thousands of years old. Every day in the Hindu Calendar (Panchang) one can celebrate an important event like Birth of a Guru or an auspicious celebration like Deepavali or Holi. Our festivals are based on marking a start of season, honoring the Goddess or Felicitation of nature. Celebrating these festivals have a purpose, they improve the relations with our community and extend the connections with our ancestry.
Today, Nov 13 is Kamsa Vadh. The day Lord Krishna killed Kamsa. All through last week and this week every day is a day you should light Diya near Tulsi Plant and in Pooja Room. As Hindus, we should honor Diwali more than we celebrate any other.
Dates to remember :
  • HTS Balvihar Classes : Nov 14th, Dec 5, 12 and Midterms on 19th.
  • Last day to donate toys for "Diwali to Christmas" Dec 19th noon.
  • First Class of 2022 : Jan 9th.
Satsangh :
Every other Balvihar Sunday, we encourage students to share, question and celebrate their curiosity about our culture. This keeps our children connected to our heritage. They also end up being adorable moments of hilarity and joy! If your kids are asking questions that you cant trust Google with, then lean on us.

We have opened up a Balvihar Chat group on Whats app, if you wish to join it your teacher can give you the link. This is a place to ask questions regarding volunteering and other Balvihar related queries. We are also considering whether we should consider in face Balvihar Classes from January, when we are at that juncture, please give us your input. We will go with Majority votes provided the HTS Executive Committee also supports it. Thank you for understanding.

Namaste,

HTS Balvihar Students will celebrate Deepavali at Hindu Temple tomorrow from 9:30 am till 11:30 am. We will begin with Lakshmi Pooja for R1  & R2 classes.

Religion 3 and 4 kids will be playing quiz and games which will be run by Religion 5 Seniors. Our Diwali menu is Paav Bhaji and Rasgulla! Followed by fireworks in the parking lot.

In order to keep our little kids safe and do pooja at their pace, we are focusing on giving them the chance to do the Lakshmi pooja with proper distance in the temple hall. Please be punctual.

In order to keep our R3 and R4 students a chance to stretch their brain and body muscles, we will give them a chance to recollect what they remember from Ramayana as well as play games with their Balvihar Friends. We request few parents to be with the senior students with mask on so that they can help with the supervision.

All Balvihar students will be given the food boxes before we sell the remaining items to parents, so please help us by following the plan.

Things to remember :
  • Dress in comfortable Indian clothes in which they may be able to do Pooja or Play.
  • Be at the temple before 9:30 am.
  • Wear your masks.
  • Bring canned items for Food donation. #SevaDiwali
  • Bring giftwrapped present for Diwali to Christmas Toy Drive.
  • Wait for all Balvihar students to get their lunch before adult purchase.
  • Maintain Safety during Fireworks activity.
