Namaste,
Hope you all had a great Raama Navami celebrations! Raama means Charming in Sanskrit.
According to Valmiki Ramayana and other ancient sources, Rama was born about 880,000 years ago, near the end of the Treta Yuga; and 11,000 years after his coronation, the Dwapara Yuga started, which lasted 864,000 years, followed by the Kali Yuga , in which 3,101 years had elapsed at the beginning of the Christian Era. Composition of the Ramayana in its current form is usually dated to 7th - 4th century BCE.

The reason we revisit aspects from a time so long ago is to honor the Avataara and its message. To remind ourselves and our children that an Exemplary Man is possible, A Sacrificing Woman is to be revered. Aiming for perfection and standing true to one's ideals should be a goal. Respect your parents, honor your siblings, stay true to your spouse and stay on the righteous path. Jai Shri Raam!

Please join me in thanking our Balvihar students Shweta Rajam, Varun Rajam, Anirudh Anand, Uma Purani and Aum Purani in helping with clean up on April 2nd morning. They had a lot to deal with but they made it happen with a wonderful attitude and enthusiasm! Thank you for all the support and seva.

We celebrated our respected Balvihar teacher, HTS member and loving friend of the community Dr. Vasu Singh on her achievements. Thank you for teaching at HTS Balvihar for all these years, now we have your oldest Radhika teaching here as well. We appreciate all that you do.

April 9th is going to be our last teaching class for the academic year 2016-17 Balvihar. Students please wear Balvihar hoodies for group picture with your class teacher. Kindly check with your teachers to gather all the information you need for final examinations, display boards and Annual day prep. We would appreciate it if all families confirmed with their teachers about the availability of their child's participation on Annual day so that teachers may start planning their script for skit and other details. Thank you to all the families joining us for the Field trip to Vraj. If you have any paper work or fee submission to complete, please do so on April 9th. This will be the final call.

During Satsangh, we have a wonderful group of boys from Balvihar Marathi class, who will give a presentation about Upanayanam. This vedic tradition of Brahmopadesham is a milestone of a boy dedicating his life towards pursuit of higher education, focussing on his character building and taking up eventual responsibilities in life. Please join us in learning more about our traditions and encouraging these students towards that adventure.

We at HTS are very proud to initiate Community Bhajans after Balvihar Satsangh. Respected musicians Shri.Vinay Mishra, Smt. Joita Bhattacharyya, Shri.Paresh Kashalkar and Shri. Dharam Sookram will lift our spirits with Kirtan and bhajans that transport you to oneness with Bhagwan. Please stay for lunch to follow afterwards. The support of all families will ensure that such programs can be continued on a regular basis.
