Namaste,

Vijaya Dashami is the celebration of Durga mata  the warrior avataara of Parvati ma reclaiming the world from the clutches of evil back to good. It is also the day they celebrate the victory of Shree Raama defeating King Ravana.

Since our Vedic roots are ancient, this important phase of lunar calendar is a blessed day to start any important work or take a break from all the hectic life and collect ourselves to absorb the energy to recharge ourselves.

At HTS Balvihar on Oct 1st sunday, we will have the same schedule from 9:45 am to 12:30 pm. HTS Balvihar celebrations from 9:45 - noon are only for Balvihar kids. Please bring your children dressed in Indian clothes so that their memories of festival celebrations are similar to yours! After morning mantrochaar, we will do aarti and then send the younger balvihar kids to learn sketching from Chinna Sir. The older balvihar kids will enjoy savories and watch videos of Dussera celebrations in the basement.

After the switch of activites, we will have a quiz about religion in the main temple hall until we set up our ferocious Ravana!

HTS Balvihar recognizes and is thankful to :

Jaideepji for frame construction and structure.
Shaliniji - Uma K - Shashi for Arts & crafts related to Ravan.
Hiren and Sejal Patel for bringing Fireworks.
Chinna sir for Bhagwan Sketch - session.
Mamtaji - Madhaviji - Seethaji - Lalitha for Food management.
All Volunteers who helped decorate, setup and clean up for us.

We look forward to our Raama Parivar to defeat the Ravana and herald the days of joy and austerity over mankind! Your friends are invited to join us in the parking lot at noon to celebrate and join us in chanting " Siyavara Raama Chandra ki Jai"!
Why do we repeat these time honored traditions? The problems that society faces are the same, the solutions remain same too!  Virtue, honesty, integrity and compassion is what makes us better humans. Let us all join together as Balvihar Family and enjoy the festivities!

Jai Ma Durga! Jai Shree Raama!
